TAG QUESTIONS
We started on "Tag Questions" today!! Students need to pay attention and practice with this! It can be confusing, but very easy if you practice with different kinds of questions, and you hear the pattern!
We did the last part of page 4. Many students had questions, so please look at these examples!
When you have a tag question, this is what happens.
-you first have a sentence
-that sentence then has a question after it
(that question is the "TAG" question!)
Rule to remember : If the first part (the sentence) is POSITIVE, then the end of the sentence, the TAG QUESTION is NEGATIVE! It's always opposites!!! If the first part is NEGATIVE then the question is POSITIVE!
Negative sentence = if the sentence has the word "not", it is a negative sentence!
Rule to remember : ALWAYS look at the verb!!! The verb in the first part of the sentence must MATCH the tag question!
Look at these examples!!! And practice!!
